Living Life from The Inside Out

I want to share something short and sweet with you today:

Behavior isn’t driven by your best intentions. It’s driven by your identity.

Yes, your habits matter (I love what James Clear of Atomic Habits teaches about that), but there’s something even deeper going on.

Much of what we do isn’t coming from conscious decisions in the moment. It’s coming from what we’ve practiced, absorbed, and come to believe over time—often without even realizing it.

If you want to change ANYTHING in your life, you must start from the inside out.

You must start with your identity.

In the spring of 2018, I went on a deep journey in my faith, asking Jesus to “Show me who God the Father is to You.”

He answered that, and in the process, I learned the truth about myself:

I am a beloved daughter.

That wasn’t just a comforting thought. It became something settled and real, a non-negotiable.

And when that truly took its place within me, my habits (especially around highly processed foods) began to change. I found myself wanting WHOLE and REAL foods. I wanted to be nourished; I didn’t need the “hit”.

Why not?

I was already secure.

My behavior changed because my identity did.

If you’re in a place where you feel stuck—where you keep doing something you’ve promised yourself you’d stop, don’t start with the outer levels of behavior change (goals such as lose 10 pounds) and the processes (actions) to get you there.

Start with your IDENTITY.

Your most important identity is that you are God’s child, transferred into His Kingdom.

You don’t have to hustle for your worthiness. It is yours.

I love this circle image because I love thinking of myself in the middle of its warmth, filled with a deep understanding of who I am and WHOSE I am. There is peace in that circle.

This is life-changing stuff, my friend, especially in the area of health and wellness. I believe, that once you can truly know in your heart of hearts that you are loved, accepted, known, seen, delighted in, then you can live your life with boldness and courage.

I don’t want to speak in generalities, so I’ll dial this in a bit.

As a beloved daughter, I have responsibilities and people that need me. And I’m old enough to clearly see the connection that what I do in my body in the realm of food and exercise truly affects every aspect of my life.

Knowing that and knowing that behavior change is identity change, I have taken on this identity: I am a healthy, strong, confident, fit woman.

Then I simply take the actions that “prove” that identity:

  • I work out every single day, sometimes with weights, other times I work on my flexibility or cardio.

  • I eat whole, nourishing, fabulous meals, focusing on clean proteins and building in lots of amazing veggies.

  • I track what I eat, not in calories, but in macros, which is magical.

  • I drink enough water every day.

  • I prioritize hormone health and deep, restorative sleep.

As I begin with this identity of being a strong, fit woman and live in alignment with it, the outcomes begin to take care of themselves.

Only took me a million years to get here. Ha.

But here’s what matters most right now…

This isn’t about me. It’s about you.

Who are you becoming?

Not the version of you chasing a number on the scale or trying to “finally get it together”, but the fabulous woman who already knows who she is.

The woman who is loved. Chosen. Delighted in.
And drum roll: the woman whose choices begin to reflect that truth.

What would change in your life if you truly lived from that place?

In the intimate areas of self-care:

What would you eat?
How would you move?
How would you care for your body, your energy, your calling?

You don’t need more pressure.
You need a deeper foundation.

And when that foundation is set—when you begin to live as a beloved daughter—your habits will begin to follow. It’s absolutely soul-stoppingly glorious.

If you’re ready to step into that kind of transformation—not just behavior change, but true identity-driven living—I would love to walk with you.

My next wellness round is starting soon, and it’s especially powerful for women navigating this season (including those on GLP-1s).
